In a couple of weeks, I'll be getting on a plane to Europe for the first time in a long time. I'll be heading to France to lead my watercolor retreat. Before the retreat kicks off, I’ll be spending a couple weeks in Italy to geek out over Renaissance art and delicious food. I am so excited! If you've been around here for a while you know that one of my favorite things to do on the plane is to illustrate in Procreate. Creating new artwork on my iPad during flights makes the time pass by so much faster.

In this week's #CreateWithCatCoq challenge, we're going to use one of my favorite tools in Procreate that I use to create perfectly symmetrical artwork - Assisted Drawing. This tool allows you to draw in one section of the canvas and have it duplicated automatically like this.

Sooooo satisfying, right? For this week's #CreateWithCatCoq challenge, I'd love for you to use Assisted Drawing on a Procreate illustration. There are so many ways to use Assisted Drawing, and I think we're going to see a wide range of different projects this week!

If you've never used this tool before and are looking to learn the basics, I've got you covered! Check out this blog post tutorial that will walk you step-by-step through how to use Assisted Drawing in Procreate!

If you're wondering what to draw with Assisted Drawing, here are a few ideas!

I particularly love this tool when I'm illustrating mandalas. Drawing mandalas (especially with Assisted Drawing) is so relaxing. It's such a fun and satisfying creative exercise. And - bonus - mandalas are big sellers on print on demand products!

I have a whole lesson about mandala drawing in my most popular Procreate class, Procreate for Beginners. You can watch the class for free when you sign up for a free trial with Skillshare.

Another way that I use Assisted Drawing is when I'm doing architectural illustrations like houses. I walk through how you can use Assisted Drawing to help get the perfectly symmetrical illustration in my newest Procreate class, Draw Your Dream Home in Procreate.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with this week! You really loved the last Procreate challenge, so I'm going to keep 'em coming! To participate in the challenge, all you have to do is share your artwork on Instagram using the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq. I feature select participants each week, so don't forget to tag me @catcoq for a chance to be featured! What Procreate tutorial or challenge do you want to see next? Hit reply and let me know!

Have a fabulous week!
