Everything is better with cheese including lettuce. This deconstructed Caesar salad from Jenna features lots and lots of parmesan cheese and a simple dressing brushed on the cut side of halved romaine hearts, sprinkled with the cheese and placed under the broiler for a few minutes. The result is nothing short of astonishing and we'll be broiling our lettuce from here on out.

This end-of summer activity comes to us from Rachael and is technically for kids, but adults will love it too. Give your daily walks to the park a new purpose by scouting out the prettiest leaves and flowers along the way to create botanical bookmarks. Pressing the leaves between the pages of a heavy book is a great way to teach little ones the virtue of patience. After a few days, place them between two pieces of clear contact paper and presto! You'll have a pretty reminder of summer all year long.
