A question I get asked all the time is, "What is the best strategy for successfully selling artwork online?" While there are many different strategies that I use to sell my art, one of my favorite (and most successful) approaches is to turn one design into a ton of different color palettes. Just like that, one design blooms into five or ten designs.

By creating different color palettes for the same motif, you're ensuring that you'll appeal to a wider audience. Say you create a piece that has a lot of blue in it. There may be a potential customer out there who loves the motif, but they don't like blue or it doesn't match the aesthetic of their home. Even though they like the piece, you'll miss out on that sale if it doesn't work for them. But if you create multiple different color options you'll cover a wider range of tastes and aesthetics which means you won't miss out on any sales solely based on color.

A lot of people think this means you have to create a brand new illustration each time, but you can easily create new color palettes with just a few clicks. One of the simplest ways to change up the color of your illustrations is by using programs like Procreate or Photoshop.
