While our summer in FL never truly ends, I have been feeling the oh so subtle shift between the ‘seasons’ these past few days. More backyard butterflies but way fewer birds, the last of the Georgia peaches in decaf iced tea, cozy afternoons that scream for a nap with a new book. And the subtle changes in the morning light, along with stronger afternoon storms.
I keep waiting for things in the world to calm down a bit, for things to be less, well, less sad. Because, damn. I keep refreshing feeds for any good news or even small progress. But, I think it is time to change my mental tactics to a bit more acceptance of the situation instead of simply hoping things will get better - if for no other reason than to keep two feet firmly planted in reality as I help strategize for a better world.
