Space that Feeds the Soul…and the Belly

Our love for kitchens at Kristin Mullen Designs is rivaled only by our love of beautiful textiles and Swedish antiques. As a home cook myself, I find joy in spending hours in my kitchen. Many of my clients feel the same, and others...not so much! But in every project I work on, my clients want to make their kitchens the beating heart of their homes.  So, it will come as no surprise that I am very opinionated when it comes to kitchen design.  And we decided to share those opinions with our Instagram followers in a live question and answer session, linked at the bottom of this newsletter.

Whether designing for myself or for clients, everything from the backsplash to the knobs and pulls is carefully considered and intentional. I like to think about kitchens in terms of function (meaning the practicality of the space),

Form (how to make the kitchen visually stunning),

And finish (the small, but meaningful details of the design).

Together, these considerations guide my approach to creating kitchens that are as beautiful as they are pragmatic. More specific questions such as the cabinetry color, hard surfaces, and work zones that belong in a kitchen are as individual as my clients and the aesthetic of their homes.

But to hear and see a WHOLE lot more, pour yourself a cup of coffee or adult beverage of choice and settle in for a fun and informative discussion of all things kitchen - from my loathing of upper cabinets to behind the scenes insights on backsplashes and my take on color in the kitchen by watching our IG Live here
