Dear First name / Friend,
For too many years mental health has been seen as something to hide, to be ashamed of, something that only impacts “other people”. That is beginning to change. With all we have been through, along with individuals bravely disclosing their struggles, we are slowly realizing that mental health is part of being human.
My friend, fellow psychotherapist, and clinical social worker, Josh Cutler, has bravely published a memoir, The Day Hospital, sharing his personal experience and recovery with mental health. I am honored to host and facilitate a conversation with him at Town Hall Seattle. We both come from integrative, evidence based backgrounds and are passionate about realistic and sustainable recovery. We will draw from our experience as mental health professionals, as well as humans, with the intention to normalize, connect, and offer tools for building resilience. I would like to personally invite you to our upcoming event - A Conversation about modern mental health.
My hope is that this event will offer you moments of laughter, a few tears, and a sense of connection as we navigate this journey of being human. It would be an honor to share this evening with you.
Many Blessings,
Ellen Slater
