With the passage of Legislative Bill 406, Nebraska Legislature set out to identify opportunities to enhance and sustain two of the State’s greatest assets – its people and its natural resources. It has commissioned a study on tourism, water access and economic development by HDR Inc. The study, which includes the Lake McConaughy region as an area of focus, will define a vision that can serve as a catalyst for opportunity including tourism, economic development, population retention and growth, job growth, and resiliency.

Recently, HDR conducted a survey about the Lake McConaughy region. (Thank you to all who participated!)  The next step of the study process is a Design Workshop, during which the HDR team will develop design concepts for the Lake McConaughy Region for public review and feedback.

The team will host a short presentation each evening from September 27 – 30 promptly at 5:45 p.m., followed by an open house where attendees will be able to view proposed design concepts, ask questions of the project team, and provide feedback.

These workshops are open to the public and we encourage you to share this invitation with your friends and family.
