Welcome to 10 Things, a treat right to your inbox each Friday with - you guessed it - ten of my favorite things from the week.

Without further ado . . .

  1. What actually is business casual? This article from Career Contessa breaks it down, whether it's business casual at the office or at a networking event.
  2. Money Scoop. This easy-to-read, easier-to-understand newsletter is perfect if you want to build some financial and business literacy, but have no idea where to start. It's got everything from stock information to defining big-kid economics terms to showing you the latest Excel function. Click the link to subscribe.
  3. Here's how to freshen up your routine, from The Everygirl. After working from home and feeling out of touch with society for so long, some of us are still stuck in a bit of a rut.
  4. These everything-but-the-bagel-seasoned kettle-cooked potato chips from Trader Joe's, which are possibly the most life-changing chip I've ever eaten.
  5. How to actually get rid of a pimple inside your nose, according to a dermatologist. She also covers what may cause inner nose pimples. Honestly, I found this article while on a quest to put it to use this week. TMI?
  6. One of my all-time favorite books, perfect to cozy up with as autumn officially debuts - The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. There's also a movie, although I haven't seen it. The story is a delicious romance novel constructed entirely in the form of letters about the occupation of the Channel Islands during World War II.
  7. Jess Ann Kirby has a weekly post similar to 10 Things called Click. Read. Love. It focuses more on fashion, and I look forward to reading it every week. The link is to last week's, but you can subscribe to Jess's newsletter to get them delivered to your inbox each Friday.
  8. To scratch your current event itch (since I know 10 Things is everyone's most reliable news source!): hot pepper research just won the Nobel Prize in Medicine!
  9. How to be less nervous and more confident on a date, a podcast episode from SHE by Jordan Lee Dooley. I've been following Jordan for forever and listening to her podcast for years. She gives such practical, usable tips that go beyond “say affirmations in the morning and fake it 'til you make it!” One of my favorites.
  10. In honor of my trip to Boston (heading to the airport as you're reading this!): 10 things you should do before every trip, by The Blonde Abroad. TBA is one of my favorite travel blogs, and her tips and tricks for traveling - and particular solo female traveling - are unmatched.
