Hi friends!

I feel so lucky that you are choosing to spend a few moments with me to read the 5 sparks I have carefully selected for you. Thank you for your trust in the value I offer you here every Sunday. I am honored to be in your inbox.

Reviewing September, I realized that while I was deeply grateful that schools were back-especially how it transformed homework time into a mostly smooth experience  after having the concepts being explained face to-face not through screens- driving kids to school, nevertheless, has cut my personal morning routine short by 1 hour at least, and this consequently disrupted my creative routine and output, like the number of posts I share on Instagram every week and podcast episodes every month. The fact is, it’s been more than a month since my latest one, plus I promised you a new episode last week but couldn’t deliver on time.

That’s why I love monthly reviews, they help me catch patterns before they take root. They give me the opportunity to course-correct if I don’t like where I am heading. I learned that I need to create new pockets of time to do my work and recommit to my practice. And about that overdue podcast episode, it is coming sooner than you think.

How was your week, First name / my friend?

Mine was full. I was productive and focused at work. I did a 2-hour training session about habits for 30 women from all over the Arab countries. I went to a wedding and a funeral. Life, right?

I recharged when I got with some amazing members of my WhatsApp group for waking up early accountability, the #SunriseWinners. We discussed our commitment to habits according to The Four Tendencies and what’s working and not working for us in our morning routines, all while watching leaves falling and cats hilariously chasing butterflies 🦋. It was the 2nd meeting for our 1-year-old group, we need to get more active, perhaps 😁 ?

These are the conversations that fill me up. I wish you similar ones this week 🙏.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 5 inspiring things I thought were worth starting your week with:
  1. Are you practicing gratitude, or just saying you are? Here is how to Grow Your Gratitude
  2. Reflecting on her experiments with doing less, Amy reached a telling conclusion: “Time management is a core spiritual practice.” That last sentence made my heart skip a beat, read what Cal Newport shared recently on his blog: A Pastor Embraces Slowness.
  3. I try to look for ways to improve my writing. I found this helpful, I hope you would think so too: The 4 Essential Principles to Make Your Nonfiction Writing Great
  4. Find here some great tools to manage your attention and save your time for the most important work. I've used at least 50% of them, can you guess my favorite? It's in my podcast artwork.
  5. This question is one of the most powerful ones I have come across, use it often, especially when you start complaining:
"How are you complicit in creating the conditions of your lives that you say you don’t want?"
― Reboot, Jerry Colonna
