October 31 - November 2 is Allhallowtide, better known by its component parts: Halloween, All Saints' Day, and All Souls' Day. These three days call us to “Memento Mori” - remember we will die.

 

Jesus lived in a state of Memento Mori - he was the child born to die and spent his life preparing for his death. We can follow his good example by allowing the promise of eternity to shape how we live on this side of heaven, by taking up our crosses and following him.
