A while back I decided that I would create my own return on investment because I knew that the course could not possibly work if I was not implementing. So, I removed the “safety net”… the idea that I could blame a course for not getting the results I wanted.
It's been 2 weeks since I joined a program all around mindset and awareness.
Instead of tracking results, among other things, we're also tracking shifts (which are results too, perhaps even more powerful than the ones I'd initially expect).
For me, shifts come in the form of lightbulbs that make me feel something. Once I get the thought, an emotion follows and that’s how I know it’s a shift. It’s natural, it flows and it becomes part of my everyday life.
There is no need to force anything. A shift feels like a new way of doing things or of looking at things. A transformational moment, breaking the chains that are holding me back, one by one.
Just a few of the shifts I have noticed:
⚡ I used to believe that deadlines were the only ones able to motivate me to get something done. In doing so, I would block my entire time until that project was done. I realized that I can get more satisfaction by getting something done right away and have more time to edit if I need to... while also creating more space for more projects.
⚡ I noticed that I keep procrastinating when I lack clarity. I started writing about this and create clarity around what it is I want to get done. What I've noticed is that I am more motivated to get things done without wasting time. It feels amazing to know I have a tool that I can use anytime to feel determined.
This process of awareness, noticing these tiny moments that cumulate and shape the life I am living right now as I sit at my desk, writing to you, inspires me to keep looking inward and continue to connect with myself.
Because when we connect with ourselves, we can truly connect with someone else.
