Hey First name / friends!

There are over 5,000 pieces of artwork in my portfolio.

I've been in the industry for a long time, but that would mean that I would have been making two new pieces every single day to hit that number. I love creating, but I definitely don't make two new pieces every single day! So how do I have such a large portfolio?

For almost every piece of artwork I create, I make it in multiple different colorways.

Not only does this save time, but it helps my portfolio grow exponentially and increases the number of potential buyers for the art I sell online.

If you create a piece in just one color, you're limiting yourself to one type of audience. Everyone has a different style, so creating multiple colorways allows you to reach a wider audience and make more sales as a result.

This week's #CreateWithCatCoq challenge is to turn a piece of existing artwork into a few brand new pieces just by changing the colors.

Color exploration is such a fun and creative exercise and I cannot wait to see how you use it on your artwork.

Wondering how to change up the colors of an existing illustration? Check out this brand new blog post tutorial that walks you through the process step-by-step.

If Procreate is your medium, I have you covered! I also have a tutorial all about adjusting the color of illustrations in Procreate.

Don't forget to share your new colorways on Instagram so I can see what you make! Share them using the hashtag  #CreateWithCatCoq and tag me @catcoq

I hope you enjoy playing with color this week! ๐ŸŒˆ

xo, Cat
