I had a dream about horses this week. I’m not kidding, it was Monday night and I wrote it down so that I could share it with you.
I was sent into a dark paddock to look over a couple, as if I was going to buy them or take them with me somewhere. I couldn’t see much except their shapes but they seemed anxious. While tracing my hand along the hindquarters of one, another horse knocked into him and they started fighting. When you’re in danger of being kicked, in this instance, you stand closer. You’re more likely to be launched away than to receive the impact of the blow at full force. As they moved around, I pinned myself against their muscular bodies, moving in ripples with their lunges and bucks. I saw an exit and swung myself around the side of the fence. Catching my breath, I watched them run off together out of the paddock and through some trees toward a lake.
To dream about horses is incredibly ominous, to me personally, but also in general. They symbolize power and leadership, taking charge, reclaiming autonomy and freedom. I was left breathless by the threat of being hurt and the immense power I could feel in their bodies and movements. I felt a sense of ownership as they reared and kicked, competing for dominance. I know that the horses are parts of me seeking freedom of expression, freedom of movement, sovereignty and autonomy.
A New Moon in Sagittarius, such as the one peaking tonight at 11:43pm PST, is optimistic and philosophical in nature. It can have you feeling emotionally expansive or desiring to expand your horizons. The archer Sagittarius is a seeker, here for the journey not the destination. Along with the closing of the eclipse portal from May 2020 and Neptune moving direct after being retrograde the last 5 ½ months, we are experiencing a burst of clarity. We are given the opportunity to heal by accepting the truths that have become apparent over the last 18 months.
I would suggest that this is a powerful new moon to set intentions. Be mindful that you are giving them a clean slate upon which to make their magic happen, but use that newly acquired mental flexibility and your fortified values to start imagining the new world you would build, whether that’s in your community or in your own backyard. Begin to map out where you’re going from here. Add places and spaces to your bucket list.
I’m looking ahead to the end of this calendar year, the beginning of the next. I’m seeing how far I’ve come since January of 2021, and what steps are still in front of me. It’s never a one and done deal. We are constantly stepping up to new levels, stepping into new forms. Deepening our embodiment and through that expanding our comprehension of spirit and source.
I am watching this business of mine grow with such gratitude and awe. New clients are booking sessions into January and others are fledging the nest we've created together to go off and be their authentic selves in the world. If we've worked together, you've made my year a rich one. Like double chocolate fudge rich. 😋
