Hi First name / friend!

You guys, after literally over a year of locking down and cancelling plans and being as careful as we could - we couldn't avoid it any more. I tested positive for COVID early this week and I won't lie, being islated from my toddler and husband as I heal has been very very hard.

The morning after getting sent home from work, I woke up pretty devested and even a little scared.

BUT.

Joy has a sneaky way of showing up when you least expect it. My friends dropped off care packages, my mom left soup on the porch. My staff sent notes of encouragement all day and I zoomed into meetings that felt just as inclusive as ever.

I learned two lessons:
1. Even (maybe especially) on our hardest moments, joy remains.
2. Community is cultivated in the easy times for out need in the hard ones.

Such love for you all.

coffee talk with em

Nothing makes me happier than a great recommendation. So here are a few of things that are sparking joy and bringing pockets of peace to my days. I hope you love these things as much as I do! Got a recommendation for our new Slow Down Sunday? Just reply to this email and tell me all about it!

  1. Ok so I told you I'm quarantining this week and I've NEVER been so grateful for Disney+ group watch services! Highly recommend.
  2. These puzzles! I have a personal rule that only do 500 piece puzzles and these are my hands down favorites.
  3. Ben and I printed the Hallmark Bingo and watched the new movie Christmas CEO. Honestly, I loved every second.
  4. This line from Sugar Paper at Target is gift wrapping dreams come true.
  5. I have been seeing this trend all over Tiktok and this article explains it perfectly!
