We have reached the last full moon of 2021. Not only will we officially close out the eclipse cycle of the moon’s nodes in Gemini and Sagittarius, but we are also drawing our Gregorian calendar year to an end. In these last few weeks, we tend to feel the need to shrug off the shackles of our public and working lives in exchange for the comfort and nourishment of rest and celebration. As we should, it’s been one hell of another year.
I have been feeling the need to cocoon myself away until the end of the year. Why am I fighting it?
The peak of this lunation will occur tonight Dec 18, 2021 at 8:35pm PST. A full moon in Gemini wants to share its feelings with others. It wants to extend its emotional arms and make connection through communication. Speak from the heart, but make sure you’re receiving others there as well. Communication goes both ways. This can feel incredibly vulnerable, but this new moon and its harmonious trine with Jupiter will facilitate our relationships and emotional expansion.
The moon will also be square Neptune, which will encourage a strong desire for the transcendental. You’re able to plunge the depths of your psyche and maybe the psyches of others, but be mindful that you’re not making assumptions or expecting unrealistic desires. Venus conjunct Pluto will be seeking transformation in our relationships and how we handle our finances. Again, we can always rely on the clear and conscious communication facilitated by Gemini’s gift for exchange.
On Sunday Venus stations retrograde in the sign of Capricorn. For the next month, we’ll be examining what hasn’t been working in our romantic and financial relationships. It’s best to use this time for reflection and observation rather than making big decisions one way or another. The correct course of action will become clearer after January 29.
FOR THE BODY
Gemini rules the shoulder, arms, hands, respiratory system, lungs, bronchial tubes, and the capillaries. This is a sign of communication and exchange so it covers the systems in our body that exchange life-force.

Give the arms and hands a good stretch. Roll out your wrists; stretch your fingers back and open the palms; get that parafin dip at your next mani!

Remember 4,7,8 breathing? If you're heading into a tough conversation or feeling a little activated with holiday pressure, take a few minutes to inhale for a count of four, hold for a count of seven, exhale for a count of eight.

Sometimes writing it out can help us to communicate what's in our hearts without the pressure of having to come up with the right words in the moment. Write a love letter to your best friend, send a postcard to a relative that you miss. I'm all for green options, but you can't beat the intimacy of a handwritten note.
This time of year in the northern hemisphere lends itself well to contemplation and reflection. With long nights and blankets of darkness to soften the edges of the world around us. For some of us, the SAD is real, as humans we are beings of light after all. But next week is the winter Solstice!
December 21 will be the longest night and shortest day of the year. Traditionally, solstice can be celebrated as the time to welcome back the sun. Personally, I observe the solstice as the celebration of the year that has been. I love to pick a project or two that’s been on my “to-do” list for an obnoxious amount of time, and finish it! Oh, this pile of mail here? Sorted and shredded! That appointment I’ve been putting off since October? Scheduled! I create little rituals all day of cleaning and resetting with the purpose of releasing what I don’t need to drag with me into the new year.
I've had so much positive feed back about this Moonsletter, and it is truly a dream to hear that it makes such a difference. If anything ever strikes you, or you have questions, please don't hesitate to hit reply, it goes directly to me.
I'm always happy to connect, and I hope that this resonated with you. If it did and you want to share the Moonsletter with others, feel free to pass it along! And if you're reading this and you haven't signed up, join here!
