Hey First name / friends!

This week's #CreateWithCatCoq challenge is a particularly exciting one. Your challenge this week is to teach a friend or family member your favorite art technique.

Many of us are spending lots of quality time with family and friends this week, so I want to encourage you to share your passion with the ones you love.

Organize a "paint and sip" style class where you all participate in an online art class together. Bonus points if you're sipping some eggnog along the way. 😉 I host an event like this every week with my friends and it is always a blast!

Even if you're far from loved ones this holiday season, you can still connect and organize a virtual art party!

I have quite a few beginner-friendly Skillshare classes that will give your loved ones a chance to learn more about your passion for art, and you'll all leave with a beautiful piece of artwork!

What classes should we take?
Great question! Most of my classes are suited to be accessible for all levels, but here are some of my favorite beginner-friendly classes that you and your friends and family can enjoy together.

If you've been around here for a while you know watercolor is my go-to medium. Watercolor painting is great to do as a group and my class, Learn to Paint Watercolor Botanicals, is a fantastic place for beginners to get their feet wet with watercolor. I'd recommend starting with the monstera leaf painting since it is a simple motif to sketch and paint. If I had to pick one class to recommend for you to take alongside beginner artists, this would be it!

Don't have watercolors on hand? Try my class, Modern Acrylic Painting! This is a fun and explorative class that will get your creative juices flowing no matter your skill level. You'll learn 6 different techniques, but my favorite of all of them is the abstract painting technique. This is super fun and really approachable for brand new artists.

Come join me in Spain this summer! My watercolor + entrepreneurship retreat kicks off in June. In addition to painting alongside me every morning, we'll also be diving into workshops, masterminds, and biz discussions where you will learn insider knowledge to succeed in an ever-changing art industry.

I hope you have a fantastic week full of people you love, good food, and lots of joy. Don't forget to share a photo of your crew on Instagram using the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq after you finish your online art class! I can't wait to cheer you on!
