Celebrating the wine and culinary cultures of two incredible regions
In early November, we held the first of what we hope will be a series of unique deep dives into the culinary and enological cultures of two of the world’s great wine growing regions. The event, entitled “The Jura Meets the Langhe,” was a convivial two-day affair that took place within the charming spaces of LaCloserie les Capucines. Highlights included an extensive wine tasting featuring Neal’s producers from the Jura, including guest appearances by Nicole Deriaux from Domaine Montborgeauand Patricia Pecheur fromDomaine Pecheur and led by Neal himself, together with renowned wine experts including Italy’s first and only Master of Wine, Gabriele Gorelli; an afternoon fair during which local artisanal producers and purveyors of gourmet products presented delicacies ranging from incredible cheeses to escargots to charcuterie to cream and yogurt. We finished with an unforgettable dinner featuring mountains of Alba truffles brought straight from the source by Veronica Giraudo and Paolo Montanaro, owners of truffle purveyor TartufLanghe, and brought to gourmet heights by the very talented and extremely charismatic Michelin-starred chef Christian Milone, all married with exquisite Nebbiolo in the form of both Barbaresco and Barolo from celebrated Langhe producer Figli Luigi Oddero.
A truly wonderful time was had by all, and we look forward to announcing future events exploring, comparing, and contrasting great wine regions in the coming months.
