We will be hanging out at home on NYE with family ringing in the new year with yummy food and treats.
My Christmas tree is still up but come Jan. 1st we will take it down. It always makes me sad and I will miss the pretty glow of the tree especially at night.
To help with this void I'm sharing my tips for decorating during this in between time - winter/after the holidays when everything feels bare and empty!

Winter Decor + Design Tips
My tips for decorating during winter months when everything feels empty are really simple. Here are my strategies to make your home feel cozy when the holiday glow is gone:
Add plants (real/faux)
Add faux branches/dried florals/olive branches, eucalyptus or magnolia branches. Trader Joe's is my go-to for all the pretty & fresh greenery!
Practice self-care at home: draw a bath, arrange pretty flowers, go to bed earlier snuggled under the covers ~ do whatever makes you happy and will fill your bucket!
My love for Trader Joe's runs deep! I look forward to my weekly trips + finding new things to try & share with you!
Here are some fun options from Trader Joe's for NYE! The sparkling pomegranate punch is perfect for the kiddos or anyone who doesn't drink alcohol. The Negroni drink was new for me and was awesome mixed with club soda and orange slice over ice! It is said that this drink was invented in the mid 1800's in a cafe in Milan, Italy. You can google more about this cocktail's history - it makes for fun convo when hosting! ha! Cheers to 2022!
Color will dominant in 2022 in a big way along with textured walls, wallpaper - especially floral wallpaper and a lot of green! Wood tones, earthy elements and rattan will continue to be seen and add the warmth we all crave to the spaces within our home.
Typically I read the design predictions/trends but hold true to what I love in our home. I think having fun experimenting with color is a great way to try out some of these trends. You can do that with accent pillows and smaller rooms like a laundry room or pantry. The Pantone 2022 Color of the Year is Very Peri therefore shades of blue/violet and purple will be seen in the home and in the latest fashion trends.
