A Note From Clare

Dear Families,

I hope all of you had a very relaxing holiday season and are starting your new year off with optimism and joy! It is always a wonderful opportunity to begin a new year, reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Each year I reflect on a word to guide my entry into the next few months. My word this year is “growth." As a life-long learner, I continue to recognize areas where I strive to grow and most importantly continuing to keep a growth mindset as we experience new areas of learning. What is your word for 2022?

My message is going to focus on two points this month: COVID-19 + Volunteering.

COVID-19: Dr. Bishop sent out a message to the community that her team continued to closely monitor COVID-19 developments over break. We are ready to welcome students back following our same mitigation plan, which includes continuing to wear masks. Nurse Maya is available to answer health related questions and I also continue to be a resource. We ask families to continue to be vigilant of their families' health + wellness. ASD continues to be symptom free and we also encourage testing when symptoms arise; as a reminder we now can test right at school. We continue to be mindful of the health of wellness of our children, staff, and community. Thank you for taking good care of yourself!

Volunteers: Our classrooms continue to be inviting spaces that are joyful and child-centered. I invite you to reach out to your classroom teacher directly if you would like to explore volunteer opportunities. Teachers do all have different needs and are being intentional and purposeful with volunteers. These opportunities are pre-scheduled and your time is very appreciated. As a gentle reminder, the health and safety of all continues to be a priority so the number of volunteers in the classroom at one time will be spanned out across opportunities.

I look forward to seeing our children this week! The ice rink will be open for use! If your child would like to participate, please remind them to bring a helmet and guards for their skate. We do have extra skates as well!

In gratitude,
Clare
