FIELD TRIPS TO SPARTA APIARIES
The Foundry School
Brooke Sorenson, Student Affairs Administrator with The Foundry in Fayetteville, GA, and her group of seven high school students visited us in Sparta on Friday, November 7th to see the observation hive at the Hancock County Library and to peek inside some hives at Morgan Apiaries. Most of the students attended the Georgia Beekeepers Association Fall Meeting in Gainesville where we met them and their instructor. Since they were eager to learn and know more about keeping bees we invited them down to Sparta to get into hives, test for mites, and tour the honey extraction facility and woodworking shop at Morgan Apiaries. It was a wonderful day and great to spend time with these young beekeepers!
