TODAY ISHuman Trafficking Awareness Day
As an advocate for human rights, specifically human trafficking, this day is an important one to me. I have worked in the last year with an organization in San Diego & Colorado called Generate Hope. These women come to Generate Hope to find recovery and freedom.

Sometimes, a big word like Human Trafficking can feel overwhelming, but there are tangible things you can do to help. I am asking you, as my friend, to choose one thing to do today to help end modern-day slavery, please.

I have been learning about Human Trafficking for about 6 years now, and I am just beginning to scratch the surface of understanding. It wasn't until recently that I was finally able to move past awareness to more of an understanding of the psychology behind it. Victims are usually coerced into the situation through manipulation & control. It is extremely sneaky, and often the victim themselves do not realize what they have ended up in and definitely do not feel there is any way out. Every situation is different, but there are some signs to watch out for. Remember, this isn't some dark location in a foreign country or only on the streets of Colfax, it is literally happening all around us in plain sight. I am more than happy to talk with you if you have any questions about it all.
