Hi {{ subscriber.firstName | default('Friends') }}, Happy New Year! Can we still say that almost two weeks in? I hope you’re all enjoying the start of 2022. I never thought we’d still be battling COVID two years later, but here we are. If you want some gentle humor on the subject, follow Gary Janetti on Instagram. You’re guaranteed a smile. And for anyone struggling—because there are many—I’m sending comfort and prayers your way. So what have I been doing? My new year has been filled with editing ( WHEN WE LET GO) and writing (WHAT YOU DO TO ME). The latter is pouring out of me. This one’s for fans of music and love stories and dual timelines—ME—and I think you’re going to love it as much as I’m enjoying writing it. When I’m not writing, I’ve been trying out some new recipes. Check out this delicious avocado salad that will blow your guests away. I’m a huge fan of Jo Cooks, and her recipes are easy to follow and delicious. I also recently tried this cauliflower chicken fried rice from Joyful Healthy Eats. My husband and sons loved it, and I can never get them to agree on anything, so there’s that. Finally, these pomegranate gimlets from Barefoot Contessa are super tasty. Word of advice: don’t serve these three together. They don’t complement each other at all. . And while we’re on the subject of food (which is part of my giveaway—see below), I’d love to know some of your favorite recipes (simple) or cookbooks. Please share! And now, let's talk books! |

Rebecca and I met several years ago at Miami Book Fair when I was asked to introduce a panel of authors. We got to talking--my husband accosted her as he often does--and a fast friendship began. Since then, we have shared the ups and down of the industry with a rare honesty and vulnerability. Rebecca has been a warm, supportive friend, and it thrills me to be able to celebrate her book baby's “re-entry” into the world.
