Hi First name / friend!

As an entrepreneur, some days you need to be your own cheerleader.

Whenever I'm feeling lost or uncertain in my business I reflect on this piece of advice a former therapist gave me 3 years ago:

My husband and I was were in jobs we absolutely loved with amazing people, but the boss we both worked for created a culture and work environment full of chaos, insecurity, and confusion (hence why Neil and I were going to therapy each week to cope).

One evening as we were in her office unloading from the wild work week she paused, stopped writing, pulled down her glasses (as therapists do when they have a serious truth bomb loaded in the chamber) and said,

"You know, you are just as capable of running a business as your boss. There's nothing special about him except that he got a boost of funding in the beginning to get him started."

HOLY COW that was the biggest EUREKA moment I've ever had!

After that we left the company, moved back to my hometown, and started 2 successful businesses.

Today, 3 years later, I'm doing the exact same thing I did at that job, but I get to run my own business, on my terms, without the anxiety. 💖

The takeaway here is that if you're working for a company and considering breaking away and freelancing, you are more than capable.

Remember: We are all capable of infinitely more than we believe. We are stronger and more resourceful than we know, and we can endure much more than we think we can.
