Poldark, First name / Lovely Reader.

Do I need to say any more?

Okay, I will. First of all, we just discovered this show a few weeks ago. We're already on season 2. That tells you how much we like it. Even Carlos, who is known to watch primarily SciFi, is really into it.

I think we like it for different reasons.

~I love the historical setting. He does, too.

~Demelza? Oh yeah, she's a great characters. Smart, resilient, self-reliant. I think I'd be her if I lived in that era. Nay (see how I did that, channeling the era? πŸ˜‰), I know I'd be her. I couldn't stand the life of a gentlewoman. Bor-ing. He likes her, too, more than Elizabeth (who is Icelandic, btw, which is cool!).

~But really, it's Ross Poldark himself, in all his dark eyebrow brooding British glory, that keeps me coming back. I've loved him since I saw those V brows and moody eyes as the hobbit, Kili.

But I digress. A good TV show, just like a good book, completely draws me in. It crosses my mind fairly frequently and I can't wait to get back to it.

I need to read a book like that. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying all the books I've been reading lately:

The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t with Her Mind (that's the real title)--really liked it. May even read the second one in the series.

The Husbands. I'm liking it so far.

Verity. I did really like this one. It was a quick read.

The Wife. I remember liking it, but honestly, I couldn't tell you what it's about. If I don't LOVE it, I have a hard time remembering the plot.

I need an EPIC! I need a Gone With the Wind, or The Hobbit, or Ender's Game, or just an incredible page turner.

Email me if you can help me out with a suggestion, please 😍

Read on for other news…

Wishing you all a wonderfully bookish week!

Happy Reading!
