We believe art is something one puts skill and talent into that brings joy to people. And it’s not always something we need. It can take the form of songwriting, filmmaking, photography, woodworking, sculpture, painting and more. Saddleback Leather designs and creates functional leather art.

Today, we’re releasing our latest piece of art: The 10” Grandfather Case. It’s like something our grandfathers would have carried their hunting supplies, paints and brushes, watches or even dueling pistols in. Today this case will be used for cameras, pilots and musician headsets and pistols. Or maybe used as a lunch box for rich kids. And when you’re not using it, hang it on a wall or set it on a shelf to help create a timeless atmosphere. 

Our satisfying and soothing How It’s Made video will give you a better understanding of the skill and craftsmanship required to create this case, but it doesn’t show you the hours and hours of handstitching. I would not have been able to design this even three years ago, but this Grandfather Case is a result of years of learning by designing other pieces.

The 10” Grandfather Case is the first leather design with Our new Signature Saddleback Leather Co. logo. Each case is numbered 1 through 100, making it a Limited Collector’s Piece. This is the first design in the Grandfather Collection and we are doing something that has never been done in the history of retail.
