From the Director's Desk
Happy 2022! I have been spending this academic year in my hometown as the inaugural Allan Rock Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Ottawa. The professorship is named for a great Canadian and devoted public servant who served as Minister of Health, Minister of Industry, Minister of Justice, and as Canada's Ambassador to the United Nations. He is now President Emeritus of the University of Ottawa. It has been a great joy to meet him, having watched him on TV as the government's point person on many important files. We have even collaborated on an opinion piece, published in November 2021.

The University of Ottawa is home to the very best public law faculty in Canada. It has been a treat to spend time with some of their great scholars, including Natasha Bakht, Yan Campagnolo, Paul Daly, Kyle Kirkup, Vanessa MacDonnell, Carissima Mathen, Peter Oliver, and Michael Pal. Special thanks to Adam Dodek for allowing me to use his cool office while he is on sabbatical.

In this edition of The Leaflet, you will learn about our newest Class of Prizewinners, you will discover some of the best books of 2021, and you will meet some exciting early-career scholars in public law!

I hope we will see each other in person in 2022, perhaps in Poland in July at the Annual Conference of the International Society of Public Law, for which I serve as Co-President along with Marta Cartabia, currently Minister of Justice in the Government of Italy and formerly President of the Italian Constitutional Court. Or well before then, in Ottawa at Winterlude or in Austin at Franklin's!
