Hi love,
Amelia, here. How's February treating you? Somehow this shortest month of the year always feels extra long to me. Likely because of the bitter cold and endless grey it brings to the Midwest.
I think that's why Valentine's Day has become such a bright spot for me over the past few years. I know it's a commercially-motivated, hokey holiday. But nowadays, I can get behind any reason to celebrate Love. Especially when we refuse to confine it to the romantically-charged, monogamy-required, marriage-or-bust box it's often put in.
In my pre-pandemic life, I hosted epic Galentine's brunches every year. I gathered with a dozen of my best babes. We feasted on brunch. And we wrote love notes to ourselves. 💌 That's my favorite way to spend Valentine's Day – in celebration of self-love and community-care, with my best friends and my lovers.
