February 2022 | Issue No. 21

Hello & welcome to my February 2022 newsletter. Since I shared some of New Mexico's ski destinations in my last issue, I thought I'd follow up this month with a guide to some of our amazing local hot springs hotspots. The healing waters of a hot springs pool is one of my very favorite places to relax & unwind. We are fortunate to have so many opportunities to experience the therapeutic qualities of natural hot springs around the state. What more perfect getaway (perhaps for Valentine's?) is there during these cold winter months? What's your favorite spot to soak? These are some of my very favorites…

Ojo Caliente is only a 2 hour drive from ABQ but you'll be so relaxed you'll want to stay overnight. They have many lodging options including the original hotel, a campground, a motor lodge, houses & upscale rooms. Some lodgings feature a personal hot springs tub on your patio complete with a hammock & cliff views. There is an amazing restaurant & wine bar that serves many locally sourced ingredients & some of the veggies are grown at the resort itself. They also have a full spa to truly indulge. Ojo is a destination that once you check in you can spend all day in your robe.

Did you know?
Ojo Caliente was shut down for a year after a fire in  August 2020 took out part of the original bath house from 1868. The bath house did what it does best, heal & rebuild to be even more amazing.
Fun fact: Truth or Consequences was once Hot Springs NM. The name change occurred when the town accepted a challenge by Ralph Edwards to air his radio show quiz show "Truth or Consequences" from the town that would officially change their name to that of the quiz show.
The hot springs are free to the public to soak from 6am - 10pm. While there, you can look up at the beautiful Armand Hammer United World College. The hot springs are on the campus land but are now leased & maintained by a community group called The Friends of The Montezuma Hot Springs.
My favorite destination in Pagosa is The Springs resort with 25 pools of varying temperatures. You can soak as you watch the San Juan river flow by & on occasion watch an angler catch a trout. It's just a short walk across a bridge from The Springs to enjoy the many restaurants, cafes & breweries in the picturesque mountain town.  The hot springs are the perfect way to relax after a day skiing at nearby Wolf Creek.

I'd love to hear your story….

Speaking of HOT, let's talk about Real Estate in Albuquerque right now! The ABQ market went up an unprecedented 17.5% in 2021. So far, 2022 is continuing the trend of limited inventory, multiple offers on properties & strong sales in the first quarter. If you're wondering if it's the right time to sell, give me a call. I'd love to help you navigate your home selling journey. If you're looking for your dream home, I can assist you with the crucial negotiations it takes to compete with multiple offer situations. I'd love to hear from you & help you achieve your Real Estate goals in 2022. Visit nmhouse.com for more information on how I can help.

Until next time----
