Each month this year, we are releasing a different Grandfather Case along with a limited print of our original painting of each specific case being used in a grandfatherly sort of way. Our own painter-in-residence, Salvador, said he would not have been able to paint these if he had not studied color as intensely as he had these last several years.

 

Each of the original Grandfather Cases we launch with will be numbered 1/100, 2/100 etc. and come with a corresponding limited signed and numbered 11” x 14” print of our original artwork. Each print also comes with an official signed Certificate of Authenticity. I’m actually not sure which piece of art people will be investing in here; the painting or the case. We launched our first piece last month, the 10” Grandfather Case, and it sold out in about 60 minutes. But no one knew when it was launching, how popular it would be or that it was coming with our original collectible artwork. People were even asking where they could buy The 10” Grandfather Case’s painting “Bird Hunting With Blue” alone.

A lot of the collectors were upset they sold out so immediately and called it unfair. By the time they woke up in their time zones or got back from lunch, they were gone. So, we’re letting everyone know in advance today, and have a countdown going on our front page to make it fair.

 

Here at the office, we have our guesses written on the board for how long it will take to sell out. On this one, I’m not guessing in how many minutes anymore. I’m guessing in seconds.

 

Immediately with the 10” Grandfather Case, someone sold theirs on eBay for $749 and on one of the FB groups, someone else sold theirs for $750. I think they’re going to look back on that in a few years with regret. I saw a couple of other brands selling square cases for $2000 and another for $6000, but I personally like ours WAY better.
