It's been a heck of a start to another year. We, as I think most of us, thought this year was going to be an easy one compared to the last two. So far we have been faced with World Conflict, Rocket Inflation and the looming chance of increased interest rates. As most of you know I am a bit of a weather nerd and all I keep thinking is, Florida has had a pretty quiet tropical season the last few years.
With all the darkness going on, we choose to see the light. Just this last month we were able to find a unit for our Maryland buyer in his dream Longboat Key Community. It turned out to be owned by a woman from St Louis, Mo. She had decided to sell it herself just before her 90th birthday. She got a couple offers but she decided to go with a buyer who had an agent so we could do the heavy lifting and the keeping of timelines and paperwork. It turns out she has had some health issues recently and was unable to drive. Through our network we found her a caretaker to help her run errands and pick up things while she is here on Longboat. We close at the end of the month, the day before her 90th birthday. We have spent lots of time together and she has told me many wonderful things. This business is about the people. No matter if It is an up, down market, buyer's market, seller's market; it's about the connections we make.
