Welcome to theNew  Moon
in Pisces!

Hello dear First name / one,

Disclaimer: Remember all the practicing of self-care that we learned in 2020? Well, now we’re in the pro’s. If the current state of affairs is feeling overwhelming, I invite you to assemble your boundaries. Stop doom scrolling; it does not make you more informed, nor will it provide the sense of control you seek. Protect your energy. Practice 4-7-8 breath when you realize you’re holding it and get in touch with your senses three times a day.

When you’re ready, I have a message for you…

It’s not pretty.

When the natural process of decomposition creeps up our proverbial pant legs and we finally surrender to the muddy discomfort of change. It’s not linear and it’s not predictable. Sometimes it is violent, sometimes there are unnecessary tragedies and traumas. Big trees in the forest riddled with rot come thundering down upon new growth. Individuals plagued with fascist ideologies and the false hope of power take forceful action against their neighbors.

Transformation, mutation, maturation; most often it’s the ugliest part. It’s the slimy, bloody, foggy mess that we desperately try to ignore as it infests the corners of our lives.

On an individual level: we read the books, we say the affirmations, and we resist with all our love and light the shadowy unknown depths into which at some point we must descend. (I, too, have been here. Denial can be part of the process).

As a collective: we are still learning the value of each other, the value of our own individuation and that of others. And until we do, there will forever be grabs for power and control in order to ensure a sense of security against others.

If we know one another by now, you know I won’t sugar coat this for you. You deserve the real, the raw and the honest. Not the filtered, fluffed and spoon-fed.

Because you are here now, I know that you are someone with a desire to understand and a great capacity for compassion. You are someone of deeply rooted strength, and each experience you’ve had until this point has prepared you for our current transit of time. You may feel afraid, but you have the tools for this very moment. And this moment will prepare you for the next.

Being prepared doesn’t necessarily mean you have the answer on hand, but I know you are someone with the curiosity and tenacity to discover it.
You are here now. You are here to make something in or out of the muck of this collective transformation.

You see that on one hand is the reality of the muck. On the other hand is the knowledge that in our resilient ecosystem, the muck produces some of the most beautiful life. From decomposing matter springs medicinal fungi and energetic saplings. From death is life.

We are in Pisces season, the astrological phase that concludes the cycle and encompasses the cumulation of our experiences in the last year. Ruled by Pluto, the planet of transformation and rebirth, Pisces invites us to surrender to the flames in order to rise again. Many times we think of Pisces as the twin fish. In my imagination they are always koi or betta fish, both species native to muddy, shallow waters. Another symbol of this sign is the water lily, a flower literally born out of the murkiest water as it feeds on the dissolved nutrients. Personally, I’ve always felt Pisces season to be the muckiest in the year (you can read my reflections from Pisces season last year on the Journal). So, in some ways, this all seems right on time.

What is ready to be laid to rest? What is still fighting its return to earth?

Tomorrow’s New Moon in Pisces (exact at 9:34am PST) is a POWERFUL moon for manifestation. The sun and moon will be snuggled up next to Jupiter in the intuitive sign of Pisces and sextile Uranus in Taurus. Of course, with a Jupiter conjunction we want to be mindful of arrogance and egoism. But while they’re all holding hands with Uranus, we are more likely to experience unique and surprising opportunities for spiritual expansion and material success. We can experience a widening of our horizons.

A sense of confidence in our independence, plus Mercury conjunct Saturn just an hour before the new moon’s zenith, will have us wanting to take responsibility for our personal challenges. Venus, Mars and Pluto will also be conjunct, so burning desire could lead to some major relationship shifts or upsets. It may be best to channel this intense and passionate energy into a creative project; perhaps one that will support your personal transformation during this time.

The Venus Mars conjunction will be happening until mid-March and gives us the opportunity to balance our masculine and feminine. We can experience increased romantic energy, but also creative energy for our other passions and for taking action around our value systems.

FOR THE BODY

Pisces rules the feet, toes, pituitary and pineal glands, as well as the fluids of the body including craniosacral fluid, synovial fluid, mucus, and lymph.

â—¦
We can start to feel a little water-logged and clogged up during this season. It cannot be stressed enough how lemon-ginger water or tea will support the immune system and detoxification specifically at this time of year.

â—¦
If you can get your hands on it, ocotillo tea can break up stagnation in the body and has significant benefits for emotional alchemy.

â—¦
Work with amethyst, aquamarine and lepidolite to amplify your connection to your spirituality and keep your psychic energy clear.

â—¦
Use Angelica essential oil to lift your spirit.

â—¦
Connect with your feet through earthing, walking or dancing. And give yourself a well-deserved pedicure.

In Human Design terms, tomorrow the sun and moon will be in Gate 63, the Gate of Doubt. This gate in the head center functions as a bouncer for inspiration and information that wants to filter into our minds. Its corresponding Hexagram 63 is called “After Completion” and it reminds us that life is a spiral. All endings are really beginnings. When things feel over, dead and done with, we are really in the position of starting something completely anew. Gate 63 asks the question, “What are you? What is this?" It demands an identifier, its halting provides the space for understanding. When we experience this energy, it might feel like we are unsatisfied with any answer, but trust that you're asking all the right questions. You are gathering information to understand the patterns that precede logic. When we recognize the patterns, we can discern the variations that will break them.

Have we always been here? Is this a merry-go-round of horrors and victories, of tableaus we’ve seen before? Perhaps.
But with each go around we're getting wiser and wiser.

This is the time to begin your garden. Allow the rains to soak you through, aerate your soil, and get familiar with the creepy crawlies there to digest what has succumbed to rot. The worms and maggots can be helpers, too.
Remember that each ending is a beginning. And you wouldn't be here now if you weren't meant to be a part of this world. So, get your rest and take your vitamins, practice your boundaries and rediscover your connection to Source.
You are so needed right now. ♥️
