movies!  movies!  movies!
¡Hola, colega!

We hope that your school year is going well!

This is the time of year when we begin to teach about cultural topics like immigration, poverty, social justice, and Hispanic culture and we show some of our favorite movies.

If you have never visited our Popular Movies page, please do! There are movie descriptions, trailers, movie resources and numerous videos that teach the important cultural elements from the movies.

In our Spanish classes, we are using cultural lessons, movie-related vocabulary and lots of songs, videos, and activities to reinforce the themes. We love to use the song "Un Besito Más" by Jesse & Joy with its powerful video and unique perspective on immigration.  We finish this immigration unit by showing La Misma Luna in Spanish 2, Una Vida Mejor in Spanish 3 and Which Way Home in Spanish 4.  These are all high interest cultural movies with incredible messages.

Some additional movies to watch before Spring Break are Ferdinand  (Spain, bullfighting, anti-bullying and friendship), Gol, El Sueño Imposible
(sports, access to healthcare for Latinos), and Dora y La Ciudad Perdida
 (South America, conservation and family).

All of our movie units are on sale in our TPT store from March 6th-9th, so make your wish list now!

If we can help you in any way, please reach out to us.
