Ask the Spirit to form your thoughts about it around whatever is true, noble, right, and lovely. Ask for the grace to trust that God can hold both the chaos and the truth of whatever you are dealing with.
Spiritual formation draws you first inward to your soul and then outward to practice. The inward focus allows for your outward actions to come more naturally—an active kind of rest. Can you think of a time when you felt "in the flow"? When your actions didn't feel like work or forced because energy from within compelled or propelled you?
One of the goals of forming your heart and mind into the person and work of Jesus is believing that God is working on your behalf—even while you wait and rest and can't see it. Trusting that God is for you brings deep rest to the soul. Take a minute to breathe in this reality, and rest in the knowledge that we are praying it over you.
