The Weekly Roundup

Happy Friyay Everyone!

It has been a very busy couple of weeks which has put this newsletter on the back burner, but this week the newsletter returns! I have been busy over the last two week with a lot of spring cleaning: business, personal and a complete cleaning of my home along with keeping up with posting two blog posts a week and running my business too. I will say that I am glad the spring cleaning is over for the most part and I am looking forward to the weekend for a little R & R which will include a glass of Pinot Grigio (or two) and taking Audriana to the dog park if it's not windy! I hope you all are doing good and had a great week, but Friday is here so let's kick up our heels to the end of another week!

So, in my last newsletter I talked about the closing of Makeup Geek (happening sometime this month). It is sad to watch another small independent business close, but it's the sign of the times at the moment and I wish Marlena Stell the best of luck with her future endeavors. Now on the the latest in beauty news and that is the launch of Fenty Beauty at Ulta! The line is available now on Ulta's website and on March 6th the line launched in all Ulta stores. Great news for those of you who prefer to shop at Ulta (like myself) and love Fenty Beauty!

That's all I have for you this week! Now, let's move on to the rest of this week's roundup!

This Week's Favorites

Here's What I Have Been Loving This Week:

Milani Highly Rated Anti Gravity Mascara I have been using this mascara for about a week now and dare I say, this may be my new holy grail, from the drugstore mascara! This gives lots of length and volume with minimal effort, lasts all day, no flaking and does not burn with I remove it. This mascara is a win-win for me and will repurchase again! ($9.97)

Campanelli Fresh Face Makeup Remover Towels I have removed my makeup with this makeup remover towel damp with no cleanser and with cleanser and both ways get all my makeup off with irritation! These towels are soft, gentle and are just fantastic. ($24.50)

This Week's Failures

Here's What I Have NOT Been Loving This Week:

Tresemme Between Washes Volumizing Dry Shampoo - This is not a bad dry shampoo, but it does leave a white cast and the scent is a little strong, so when I finish this, I will not repurchase. ($7.59, 7.3 oz.)

Audriana's Corner
Pumpkin Dog Biscuits

I am smiling because it's Friyay!!! It has been a couple of weeks since my last post here. It has been busy around here, but I am back and I hope you all are well and had a great week! In my last blog post I barked about possibly going to the dog park and I did! I was a little intimated with the other dogs that were there at first, but I came around and had a great time and I can't wait to go back and have more fun! This week I decided to change things up and instead of writing about topics pertaining to dogs and cats, I thought I would share a dog biscuit recipe that is healthy and does not have any bad ingredients like commercially made dog treats and they are delish! Here's the recipe:

PUMPKIN DOG BISCUITS

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ Cup Canned Pumpkin
  • 2 Tablespoons Dry Milk
  • ¼ Teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 2 ½ Cups Brown Rice Flour* (substation: wheat flour)
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Parsley (optional)

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. In large bowl, whisk together eggs and pumpkin until smooth.
  3. Stir in dry milk, sea salt, and dried parsley (if using).
  4. Add rice flour gradually, combining with spatula or hands to form a stiff, dry dough.
  5. Turn out onto lightly floured surface (can use the brown rice flour) and if dough is still rough, briefly knead and press to combine.
  6. Roll dough between ¼” – ½” (depending on your dog’s chew preferences) and use biscuit or other shape cutter to punch shapes, gathering and re-rolling scraps as you go.
  7. Place shapes on cookie sheet, no greasing or paper necessary.
  8. If desired, press fork pattern on biscuits before baking, a quick up-and-down movement with fork, lightly pressing down halfway through dough.
  9. Bake 20 minutes.
  10. Remove from oven and carefully turn biscuits over, then bake additional 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely on rack before feeding to your dog.
*Brown rice flour gives the biscuits crunch and promotes better dog digestion. Many dogs have touchy stomachs or allergies and may not tolerate wheat.

That's all I have for you this week. I hope you all have a sensational Friday and weekend and I will bark with you all again next week!

This Week's Recipe
Vanilla Iced Coffee

VANILLA ICED COFFEE

It’s that time of year when the weather starts to warm up and we ditch hot coffee and tea for iced tea and iced coffee. I usually enjoy iced green tea during spring and summer, but sometimes I change things up and go for an iced coffee and this make-at-home vanilla iced coffee is easy and is so good! Here’s how to make it:

INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
  • Add the vanilla syrup to a cup then brew 8 oz. of coffee.
  • Transfer to a glass with ice cubes.
  • Add milk or cream, stir, and enjoy.

I am so grateful for each and every one of you! Without you all, Glam Budget Beauty would not exist, so thank you for being here and…
Until next week, have a happy, healthy and beautiful weekend!
