Day 18 NOURISHMENT
The Examen as an Anti-Racist Prayer {Video}

The Center is honored to highlight Barbara Peacock and her daughter, Verne Peacock Wilkinson, as women of color who are doing the work of spiritual formation. Their names are lesser-known than Richard Foster or Eugene Peterson and their contributions less familiar to most, but their wisdom is no less important for us to hear and receive.

Today's video is significantly longer than the others at 44 minutes. If your time is limited:
  • Minutes 1-10 contain general info on the Examen.
  • Minutes 11-18 describe the origins of the Anti-Racist Examen.
  • Minutes 19-25 discuss the uses of the Anti-Racist Examen.
  • Minutes 26-44 include a conversation of the participants' experiences of racism and prayer.

A Discussion of the Examen with Dr. Barbara Peacock, Soul Care in African American Practice; Vernee Peacock Wilkinson, Non-Profit Communications Consultant; Ted Wueste, Leadership Transformation Institute
