I read about a book a week (excluding all the reading and rereading of my own books as I write them). I'm curious. How quickly do you read books? More than one a week?
I belong to the Book of the Month Club. It's a guilty pleasure. I'm super behind on reading them, but they sure are pretty. Hardcover books are stacked all over in my house. The photo above shows the last three selections. I finished The Verifiers the other day. It digs into the dark underbelly of the dating app industry. Fascinating! I definitely recommend.
I started Magpie Murders a few days ago (this one's on my Nook-- I go back and forth). The book is very reminiscent of Agatha Christie's novels, yet also updated in its storytelling. So far, I'm loving it. It's one of those books I find myself thinking about during the day and I can't wait to get back to it come bedtime (which is my big block of reading time).
We have my lovely sister-in-law and brother-in-law visiting from California. Their first time in North Carolina and, excluding our kids, the first family to visit us here. So fun to have them here! We're showing them the sights, including the very cool Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington. I can't wait to relax with them and just lounge around and read (during the day!) with the sound of the Atlantic waves crashing in the background. (That is, very possibly, my very favorite sound.)
I'm really looking forward to unplugging for a few days. But, of course, you know I'll be doing research while I'm there. Outer Banks! I'll be back next week with a few pictures
