Before the beginning, there was chaos; everything and nothing. An unfathomable combination of all lightness and all darkness. Everything and anything that could experience existence did and freely interacted with everything and anything else. The concept is maddening for the human brain that so desperately seeks safety in order.
Both creation myths and the laws of physics tell us that something cannot be born out of nothing. Only nothing is birthed from nothing. And in the infinite everythingness of chaos, there came an initiatory moment. Whether you subscribe to the idea that a benevolent entity created our world, or “the egg of everything” hatched, or that there was a big bang after gravitational singularity, the chaos under a certain pressure was transformed.
After the cozy, white comfort of winter, there is a period of gray. Dreamy Pisces season wraps up the year in a nebulous mist of reflection. A thaw softens the once hard contrasts of our natural world and everything becomes metaphorically and literally muddy.
I hope that the Virgo Full Moon offered you the time to pick up your reins; to bring your year ahead into focus and reestablish a clear line of communication with your purpose. On March 20, the sun moved into Aries to begin a new astrological year and in the northern hemisphere we experienced the Vernal Equinox and Ostara. Seedlings are craning their delicate heads above the earth. Early blooms are shedding their husks. Whatever has been gestating now takes the leap, breaks the shell, and begins anew.
Tonight’s New Moon in Aries, peaking at 11:24 PM PST carries the dual-pistoned energy of the drive to start and the determination to overcome obstacles. However, the moon isn’t always comfortable in Aries and it can have us feeling like we are in a bit of an emotional battle. Aries is the sign of the gladiator, the warrior, the one out in front with their sword brandished shouting, “Charge!” Aries is the Manifestor. We may be feeling a pressure to make decisions impulsively or faster than usual this week.
The Sun, Moon, Mercury and Chiron will be conjunct in the sign of Aries. While this placement of Mercury can offer clear and direct communication, Chiron can bring up old wounds around our independence, our ability to start things or be the first, as well as our head and eyes. As long as we commit to clear thinking and taking only calculated risks, keeping company with those who are already close and refraining from gossip, we can direct this strong Aries energy into new projects and opportunities for ourselves. At some point or another, we all must stand on our own two feet and Aries wants to take the first step.
FOR THE BODY
Aries rules the head, eyes, face and brain.

If you haven't yet tried the relaxing practice of Gua Sha, I highly recommend that you do. Make sure you're purchasing a quality tool and face oil. There are plenty of demos online, but generally you want to use light pressure in upwards strokes on the forehead, around the cheeks and on the jawline.
â—¦ Whether its Wordle, Two Dots, or plain old Sudoku, aim for one brain teaser a week to keep your mind flexible.
â—¦
Book a check-up at your eye doctor, update your glasses of contact prescription and go easy on the makeup during this lunation.
â—¦
Eat plenty of orange foods high in beta carotene to support your vision health (carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, apricots, cantaloupe and bell peppers)
â—¦
Drink Nettle tea as an evening alternative.
In the Human Design calendar—based on the 64 Hexagrams of the IChing—the Moon and the Sun will be in Gate 21.3 Biting Through. Known as The Gate of the Hunter or The Treasurer, Gate 21 is about managing material resources. If Gate 21 appropriates resources without asking permission, being invited, or through force, it encounters considerable resistance and is usually left empty handed. There is a cooperation that needs to be engaged in here, a bargain or an exchange. When it is recognized and invited, the wisdom of this gate knows how and when to use resources for prosperity and sustainability.
To be even more specific, the Sun and Moon will be conjunct in Line 3 of this gate. In Hexagrams and Human Design, three’s are the energy of experimentation and wisdom gained through failure. The metaphor Biting Through in the IChing refers to freeing oneself from an obstruction to “good and true nourishment.” It also refers to getting to the heart of a matter, the truth. Line 3 suggests that failure or momentary defeat is an inevitable but survivable humiliation.
Beginning a lunation on this note, we are cautioned to exercise judgment over the next couple weeks. Yes, step forward. Yes, take ownership of your work and your resources. Yes, inform and communicate your needs. Do not go jumping blindly, but know that any misstep or embarrassing failure is not forever. We are bound to make mistakes, and we can be wisened by them.
This is a start. This is the beginning. There is so much I have not shared that led me to this place. Just as you have a colorful and convoluted story, I have yet to share much of the saga that initiated me onto this path. Here and there I’ve dropped some crumbs, reluctant to show too much of myself. Hesitant to expose my scars, burns and stretchmarks, the vulnerable places I wasn’t sure how to articulate.
Starting anew is in itself a rite of passage; one we are all entitled to as many times as we need. Long before I accepted my role as a transformational guide, I realized my capacity for initiation. I had to experience it over and over, until I saw the pattern. And when I tried to break it, to stay in one form, I was given the most divine compassion and shown that transformation was my gift. To steward growth through the ugliest, darkest nights of the soul, one must both hold space for the what was and what is, as well as the what will be. I am committing to being more transparent with you, to sharing of myself with you. To show you seed to sprout, to bud to flower, decomposition and back to seed again. Tune into the Journal for more on Starting (anew) next week.
INITIATION is going through its own transformation as I refine Honored Body’s offerings, and make room to expand into future opportunities (including sessions in-person!) If you are interested in receiving INITIATION as a stand-alone session, I highly encourage you to book yours now as it will not be offered in this iteration for much longer.
A 90-minute comprehensive Human Design reading and embodiment session, with the option to add on a personalized keynote digital booklet. The session opens with a guided meditation. Wherever you're at, that's where we begin. We comb through your human design chart with no informational gate-keeping and no question left unanswered. Then, we begin the process of deconditioning through somatic exercises to connect with your aura, strategy, and authority, or if the session so calls for it your incarnation cross or certain gate or channel activations. You will leave the session feeling confident in your understanding of your chart, and empowered to step into your authentic self. Click below to learn more, or check out some of the testimonials.
"It was a great honor to sit virtually with Alexandra for my INITIATION session.
Not only was the session personalized and insightful—the guided meditation, her tone, and true warmth of empathy were so physically present that I forgot at one stage that we were across the country from one another. I felt as if her healing energy was literally in the room with me."
Laura Kuhlman
“I always wondered why I felt this or that or reacted this way or that way. I am beginning to understand. I always felt a pull from something outside my being and now I can begin to cultivate that energy. This is a wonderful, insightful gift I gave myself today. I took the first step of many more to come.”
Erin Alexander
