COMMERCE COMMUNIQUÉ

African-Americans worship, pray, and attend church more than any other group in the US; no other group is more committed to their faith.

In 2015, Dr. Claude Anderson of Powernomics Corp of America, stated there were more than 85K black churches in America. However, the economy of blacks has not changed since 1860 when 1/2 of 1% of the nations wealth was owned & controlled by blacks.

That’s 161 years the black community has not been able to facilitate it’s collective strengths to move the needle towards real economic empowerment & progress. The church is imperative, now more than ever, in this post pandemic/ social unrest/ racially charged/ financially challenged environment because it’s position is organic to inspiring, educating, & equipping members to be economically empowered in ways that’s non-competing yet complementary when we collaborate & cooperate as a collective.

The black church has long since been a proving ground & a training institution that has a great track record of turning out some very good talent. So as we intentionally focus our efforts on helping one another at church where there’s an abundance of space, time, and opportunity to grow people we believe, we will be & see the change we want/need.

EICC Network will convene marketplace & ministry leaders in an executive roundtable from varied member church departments to coordinate areas for dialogue & design of business services within the ministries & auxiliaries with a focus on local & member businesses/community organizations to allow congregations to be trained & discipled according to their innate gifts & talents eventually opening the door for them to be deployed into the marketplace to perform or apply their spiritual maturity, unique gifts, skills, talents, experience, and/or relationships that transform the church’s impact on the community in which it’s co-exists.

In some instances, departments may have the opportunity to start, launch, and grow distinct business units that generate their operating budget in support of local business objectives & more!
