Well, there’s no question that it’s Aries season. If you’re not feeling the tenacious drive to get new projects started or the winds of change in your life, you may have noticed a swirling chaos touching down in your path or in spaces around you. Things that are seemingly random have ties back to previous events or decisions and chaos tends to make the reasoning feel more abstract. The ability to ride out this weather will only be told later. At present, it’s a balancing act of keep your seat and protect your head.
If you have faltered or become distracted from what you started over the New Moon in Aries, be gentle with yourself. Aries energy can be difficult for many folks to work with. It can feel like learning the gears of a new car (does anyone drive stick shift anymore?) jolting you forward, stopping short and revving again. Aries, while it is the archetype of the warrior, is also the baby of the zodiac. It reminds me of this amazing tweet by Olivia Smith:
I always love it when people say 'baby steps!' to imply they're being tentative, when actually baby steps are a great unbalanced, wholehearted, enthusiastic lurch into the unknown.
-@OliveFSmith
That, my friend, is Aries energy to a “T”. It’s okay if you didn’t get it right the first time. It’s okay to make mistakes. You’re still doing it, you’re still charging ahead in one way, shape, or form.
While in the northern hemisphere we are in what I’m going to now refer to as “Chaotic Mid Spring,” take cues from the landscape around you. Have the quinces and cherries bloomed where you are? Are the trees still budding or have their leaves begun to unfurl in the sun? At my home in the last week, we experienced a 75degree day followed by a blanket of snow and intermittent hail over the last few days🤷🏻‍♀️ . While the heavy snow broke many branches and split trees, the yellow green of pollen and new growth is sprinkled everywhere and the dandelions and tulips are determined to radiate their vibrant colors as if to make their own sunshine. I’m taking this as a sign that the work and the growth I’m doing now will send out its ripples despite the things I can’t control, clearing the path farther ahead which I may not yet be able to see.
At tomorrow’s Full Moon in Libra, both the Sun and Moon will be square to Pluto. This ominous aspect can cause profound transformations in our emotions and beliefs. Along with this week’s Jupiter and Neptune conjunction in Pisces, we are ready to let go of whatever is limiting our spiritual advancement. This square could cause conflict in relationships, obsessions and compulsions, and emotions might feel really intense or dark. With the Moon in Libra we seek emotional harmony, we may not want to rock the boat, but we can also be judgmental. There is the potential of shadow play in terms of manipulation and control through stubbornness or decisiveness. And all of this intensity could lead to a feeling of personal crisis.
Breathe. The Moon is also trine Mars and Saturn who will give us the creativity and stability to make educated decisions. The shadows we are facing are not new. We have seen them before and we have likely already begun the process of illuminating and integrating them. This moon is giving us that last push to really commit to our growth in this cycle. Plus, Mercury is sextile Venus which can ease communication and soften our approach.
FOR THE BODY
Libra rules the kidneys, bladder, pancreas and the organ of the skin as it relates to touch.
â—¦
I cannot stress water enough. Water your seeds, water yourself, water your soul. You've been go-go-go, and the winds of change around you will suck the hydration from your body. Pee more.
â—¦ Drink chamomile tea to take the edge off and use the oils, flavors or scents of violet and rose to embrace some gentleness and emotional harmony.
â—¦
Drink cranberry juice and cook with thyme.
â—¦
Try touch as a form of communication. Especially if you have an Emotional Authority in HD (Channel of Community, much?) physical touch is vital to regulating your emotional wave.
Navigating the last week of Aries season and the chaos that may be coming to a head before buckling down into Taurus, we have the opportunity to reflect on what it means to start something, to start anew. I shared an entry in the Journal earlier today about what it means to start anew and how, in my experience, timelines operate as a phenomena of starting anew.
I also make the commitment to being more forthcoming with you about the potentially shocking or triggering experiences that have led me to these understandings. I will be sharing more about my experiences with mental illness, self-harm, love, loss and transformation in coming entries and will rightfully disclose any content warnings in the headlines. But I realized that being complicit in the washing over of these experiences as so many folks do to protect our collective sensibilities, does more harm than good. By sharing my experiences and the profound truths I have learned from them, I am offering a light to someone struggling with the same shadows.
I have done this so many times that to even see the words “start over,” fills my lungs with a preemptive breath. It elicits a conflicting resignation in my sunken heart and a surge of drive through my hips and legs, lifting me out of my seat. I may not know yet where I’m walking but I am getting up and moving, pulled by an invisible thread.
When I make the choice to start anew, I’m tipping my hat to the Cosmos and its infinite possibilities. I begin a dance neither leading or following, but learning steps that are different from the previous number. The choice to start anew is both active and receptive. A part of me must consciously engage with the initiatory action, even if it is just the commitment to the decision. And an equal part must allow the course to be co-created…
And now for the big news about INITIATION that I know I teased out in the last Moonsletter…
I will be offering In-Person Human Design Readings at House Nine starting in May!
If you are local to PDX and would like to receive a reading in-person, you will be able to book on the House Nine website or at HonoredBody.com very soon. I will send out a follow up email to let you know when booking is live!
Human Design at House Nine will be a 75-minute comprehensive reading and embodiment session. You will still have the option to add a digital workbook to be emailed to you afterward. I am so excited to be offering this in a space where we can actually sit across from one another, to engage in somatic work with one another, and to geek out about your chart together.
I will no longer be offering INITIATION as a virtual one-off reading, but there will be a chart analysis session to replace it. INITIATION is becoming one-month, 3-month, or 6-month engagement combining the original reading and embodiment session with counsel sessions to deepen the practice of your design and empower you to take real-life action.
More on those sessions in the coming weeks…
Currently, you can still receive INITIATION as a stand-alone session. I highly encourage you to book yours now as it will not be offered in this iteration for much longer. ⤵️
