Dear First name / friend

As a long-time fan of musicals, the month of May always reminds me of the song “Hooray, Hooray, the Lusty Month of May”. (Now, before you go all a-twitter about the word ‘lusty’ - its definition is healthy and strong, full of vigor).  Fortunately for students, I didn't think about this until just now - 11:30am on May 31. However, when you look at the section below (On My End Table), you will see that music has been on my mind.

I've had a busy month that began with the regular – classes at Sage Yoga Studios, plus many individual sessions at my office in Bonsall (North County Yoga Therapy). Additionally, I was honored to speak at the LaCosta Parkinson's Support Group, in early May, taking them through some chair movement and, of course, talking about the breath and yoga.

I also found time to write in my blog. True confession: I was inspired by another blog, but phrased my post with my own experience. The ‘pause’ is a good way to live yoga off the mat.

These activities, plus several involving Grandsons (LaCrosse, plays, 5th grade promotion), a long weekend visit from our daughter and son-in-law, and a weekend spent with Grandsons, made my May very busy.

My Public Classes:  Mondays / Thursdays, 10:30am Aligned Yoga
Tuesdays, 9:00am, Therapeutic Yoga
Fridays, 9:00am, Yoga Basics

Individual Yoga Therapy & Yoga Teaching:  As scheduled. Go to my website:

on my end table:
MUSIC AS MEDICINE by Daphne Bryan, PhD. I was led to this book by a short blog post about Persons with Parkinson's struggling with hyperventilation and shortness of breath. Dr. Bryan was diagnosed with Parkinson's, and finds the use of music helpful in her life with Parkinson's as well as potentially helpful for many other life challenges.  An easy, yet invaluable, read for everyone, supported by much research.

The Indigo Girl by Natasha Boyd. A 1700's historical fiction revolving around the life of Eliza Lucas who - at age 16 - is left in charge of her family's financially strapped plantation in South  Carolina. Offers a good picture of plantation life, slavery, and the struggle of one smart young woman in a time when women were considered only valuable when married.
