If I can be completely honest, as I’m writing this I’m feeling a pull to go inward. Aries season always seems to take it out of me and by the time we hit Taurus, I can’t seem to rest enough. All of that energy to initiate new projects and break through the crust of the earth has been spent wildly and beautifully. And now I’d just like to unfurl slowly on cushioned ground and let the rain water me.
As things are greening and softening around the edges, we are invited to take another change of pace. Long, deep breaths of soil-scented air exhaled on an audible “aaaahhh,” refresh our lungs and tickle our sinuses. When you walk barefoot, the ground is still cold but it gives a little more under your soles. We are in a time of reunion with the visible, tangible, life of earth.
Celebrations of fertility, union, and resurrection can be found across faiths and practices during this time of year as humans have long rejoiced in the peak of Spring. And while there are very real and relevant challenges and tragedies facing our world, if we don’t also recognize and share its beauty, we will lose sight of what we are fighting for.
Tomorrow’s New Moon in Taurus brings with it so many omens of good fortune, even though it’s a tricky little eclipse. Eclipses can make for some wonky manifesting, this is actually a glorious new moon to begin a new habit, launch a new project, deep clean your home, and explore new opportunities. A New Moon in Taurus seeks safety in stability and emotional balance, and thankfully tomorrow's aspects not only support this but shower a little extra love on top as well.
Taurus is tenacious, reliable, and understands material value, but it is also representative of sensuality, beauty, self-love and respect. It is ruled by Venus after all. And when the Sun and Moon share this sign, we can experience balance in these energies. Understanding that things will not make us more valuable, we can endeavor to share more intimately and practice tenderness for ourselves through self-worth practices. For example, slather on a manuka honey + yogurt facemask and have a money date with yourself where you set up automatic payments into your savings account. HOT. Or maybe commit to one day a week this month where you get three hours of uninterrupted creative play time!
On the note of sensuality, this moon will get an extra boost of confidence, initiative, and sexual energy from its sextile with Mars. We may experience this as a drive to take action toward our desires, and we won’t be disappointed. Plus the New Moon will be conjunct Uranus, providing opportunities and changes for the better in our personal worlds, and the possibility to be pleasantly surprised.
As if that’s not a gift enough, Venus is conjunct Jupiter and both are sextile to Pluto offering us good fortune and expansion in our partnerships (both personal and professional), generosity, harmony and the capacity for positive influence. We will find our feelings of love and intimacy deepen, both to the benefit of those around us and to ourselves. There is so much working behind the scenes for new opportunities of growth, expansion and abundance.
All you have to do right now is receive it.
FOR THE BODY
Taurus rules the neck, throat, larynx, and the middle ear. It is associated with the muscles of the neck, the act of swallowing, and the voice, as well as listening and hearing.

Humming can be a meditative practice. Try slowly repeating “Mmmmmmmm-aaaah" the next time you have five minutes of alone time. Find a frequency that feels good and let the vibrations reset your nervous system.
â—¦ Broadleaf Plantain is a common weed that has been traditionally used to treat mouth sores and earaches. In traditional Persian medicine, the juice of the leaves was gargled or dropped into the ear, while the leaves themselves would be dried and warmed and used as compresses in the area.

Use flavors and scents of Sage and Rose.
â—¦
Work with and wear emerald, rose quartz, sodalite and green aventurine.

Send voice notes this month instead of text messages, and listen to the whole album instead of just one song.
A New Moon in Taurus is an opportune time to initiate new habits that support your growth in a material way, but also to nurture your relationship with yourself. Where are you ready to turn over a new leaf? We may no longer be in the Aries energy that lights a fire under our ass, but you are allowed to start anew whenever you are ready.
During their union, the Sun and moon will be in Gate 24—Rationalization, Line 4—the Hermit. Gate 24 is in the Ajna, the thinking and processing center. It serves as a filter from Gate 61 in the Head Center to create a concept from the inspiration of awareness. It is through Gate 24 that we can have those mystical “a-ha!” moments that are not logical nor can be drawn from any past pattern or experience; we just know it. With the sun and moon in this Gate, we may experience transformation through Satori, but only when we are alone. This expression is spontaneous and requires the aloneness to understand it.
In the IChing, this Hexagram is called “Returning” as in returning to your original nature which is in harmony with the Cosmos. When we follow our inner truth, we return to ourselves. But to follow our inner truth is to find ourselves in some way, alone. Without judgment, this aloneness allows for us to be self-authorized, to no longer depend on others for our direction. The IChing specifies that it is through this separation from the collective ego—the return to our original nature—that allows for our real Helpers to come to our support.
So often we are under the assumption that we are totally alone, that we have no help. It's the “I can do it myself” narrative and it can be more limiting than inspiring. Just as our individuation is a paradox (to lean more, read this!), so is the concept of aloneness. A month ago, I promised you more transparency. In the upcoming installment of the Journal, I will be sharing openly about my experience with mental illness, hospitalization, returning to the world and how I learned even in my aloneness, I was never actually alone.
As alwaysFirst name / my dear friend I hope that this resonated with you. If it did and you want to share the Moonsletter with others, feel free to pass it along! And if you're reading this and you haven't signed up, join here!
