The Weekly Roundup

It's Friday baby and it's Earth Day too!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and spring break too! I had planned to enjoy last week outside, but last week was filled with wind advisories, high wind warnings, high fire danger warnings and dust storm warnings! So, needless to say, I did not spend any time outside, but I did managed to enjoy my time off! This week's newsletter will be modified (the full newsletter will return next week) because it was quite busy here in the office playing catchup, but Friday is here and it's time to let our hair down and get ready for the weekend! I hope you all have a fantastic day and now, let's move on the the rest of the weekly roundup!

Homemade Kitty Treats

Friday is here and I am doing the happy Friday dance!!! I hope you all had a fantastic Easter and a fun spring break too! It has been a busy week around here playing catchup in the office, but I am back and ready to get back to my blog! In my last blog post I barked about the pumpkin dog biscuit recipe that I love, so I thought I would share a kitty treat recipe for all of you kitty parents that your furry friend will absolutely love! Here's how to make the treats:

Homemade Kitty Treats

Is your kitty getting a little bored of the same old kitty treats? Try whipping up a batch of these easy, homemade kitty treats. If you are unable to make your treats small enough for an easy bite, simply make them as small as you can and break each treat up before giving it to your kitty. Makes 80 treats.

Ingredients:

  • 1 4-oz. Can Tuna in Spring Water (well-drained and flaked)
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Catnip
  • 1 Large Egg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Process all ingredients in a food processor until a smooth, thick dough forms.
  2. Form dough into 80 (1/4-teaspoon-size) balls. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and slightly flatten each ball.
  3. Bake in preheated oven until golden and crisp, about 15 minutes. Cool completely. Store in air-tight container up to 5 days, or freeze.
That's all I have for you this week. I hope you all have a sensational Friday and weekend and I will bark with you all again next week!

This Week's Recipe
Iced Protein Coffee

ICED PROTEIN COFFEE

I have really been into iced coffee these days (I shared my recipe for my vanilla iced coffee a couple weeks ago) and I had no idea there was such a thing as iced protein coffee! So, after some research and trial and error, I have come up with my own iced protein coffee recipe that I am obsessed with and drink everyday! Here’s how to make it:

INGREDIENTS:
  • 8 oz. Brewed Coffee (regular, decaf, or cold brew (I use decaf French vanilla coffee)
  • 1 Cup Almond Milk (or your milk of choice. I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
  • 1 Scoop Protein Powder (I use vanilla, but you can use chocolate for mocha coffee)
  • Ice Cubes
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Brew 8 oz. of coffee in a glass measuring cup (if you have a regular coffee maker, just pour 8 oz. of brewed coffee into a glass measuring cup).
  2. Add milk to brewed coffee.
  3. Pour the combined coffee and almond milk into a personal or regular blender, add the scoop of protein powder and blend.
  4. Pour into a big glass with ice and enjoy!

Substitutions:

If you like pre-made protein shakes instead of protein powder, you can use a vanilla or chocolate pre-made protein shake, just omit the almond milk and no need to blend in a blender, just pour the combined brewed coffee and protein shake into a glass with ice, stir and enjoy!

I am so grateful for each and every one of you! Without you all, Glam Budget Beauty would not exist, so thank you for being here and…
Until next week, have a happy, healthy and beautiful weekend!
