1. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
Let’s try to practice gratitude for our experiences, rather than passing judgment based on how we measure up to others. Through the lans of the Polyvagal Theory, we know good connections are the key to long term happiness. Let's focus there instead.

2. Start Prioritizing Yourself
Prioritizing yourself is a form of self-care, because it allows you to refuel and re-energize. It allows you to create and feel fulfilled with a life that is considerate of your needs, which often then leads to a happier, healthier version of ourselves.

3. Start Moving
It is known that movement allow the body to process stress and energy more effectively. Walk, dance, do yoga!

4. Take Breaks
Life is busy and keeps many of us on a tight schedule! Even pausing for 90 seconds once a day can allow your brain to reprogram and process the information of the day.

5. Start Small
Self-care can absolutely be the grand gestures to show yourself love and kindness, but more importantly it is showing up for yourself in your daily life. It is the small, meaningful, habits that you are beginning to build.

“True self-care is not salt baths and chocolate cake, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t need to regularly escape from.”
