Power and Promise Facilitator
Reports to Director of Community Engagement
Pay $20/hr-Contract
 
Job purpose
Ideal candidates for the Facilitator position will be high-energy, responsible, organized, and passionate about working with youth. In addition, candidates should have the ability to be flexible, have excellent behavior management skills, and the ability to make independent decisions. Successful candidates will have youth development experience and should be comfortable working with diverse and system impacted youth and families.
 
Duties and responsibilities
· Delivery of the youth workshops and their activities by the mission and the goals of the organization
· Enable youth to participate through developing collective action and learning
· Use a range of educational methods and techniques
· Build relationships with the community and schools for youth outreach
· Attends bi-weekly VOICES staff meetings
· Communicate progress, concerns, program needs to the Director of Community Engagement
· Assistance with coordination of transportation services for students, as needed
· Facilitators may also support parents, service partners, and community members in multiple capacities
· Design and plan the group process and select the tools that best help the group progress towards that outcome.
· Attend required training and mentoring sessions
· Assist in record keeping, data collection, and student assessments
· Assist with designing and implementing community engagement opportunities, workforce development, creative arts programming, and academic enrichment.
 
Qualification
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalency in experience preferred
· Three years of demonstrated experience working with youth and families
· Demonstrated experience in group facilitation
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Great collaboration and teamwork skills
· Basic computer skills
· Experience with delivering Trauma-Informed Care principles
· Must pass all DCS required background checks
· Minimum 21 years of age
· Valid Driver’s License
 
 
 
Life Coach
Pay $25/hr-Contract
 
Responsible for enriching the lives of their clients. Life Coaches work with people of all ages and stages in life to identify and achieve goals by suggesting different actions necessary to take control of their future. Candidates should display patience, have excellent behavior management skills, detail oriented, ability to make independent decisions and take initiative to name a few.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Weekly engagement with clients (community, phone, & ZOOM)
• Regular communication with Management Team over client’s plans/goals to ensure quality and effective services are provided
• Positive communication strategies along with paid incentives plans to motivate clients to work on and reach their goals
• Assist/guide clients to implement difficult changes/adjustments
• Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to clients
• Consistent, accurate, and timely documentation of all required client’s records
• Instruct clients on daily management of everyday task to help gain independence
• Participate in staff meetings and in service training as required
 
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Guidance and Counseling or Certified Life Coach preferred
• 60 credit hours in social service field
• High School Diploma or HSE
• 2 to 5 years’ experience working with youth and families
• Experience with in-person-centered planning approaches and positive behavioral supports
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle is required.
 
 
 
Tutor
 $25/hr-Contract
 
Our Tutors will promote literacy, math, and academic development to help school aged students raise performance to a level consistent with state education standards. The services will be provided through one on one direct sessions, or small groups of 2-4 students. Tutors will be responsible for providing evidence based strategies in an appropriate manner based on the student’s age, academic ability, learning styles, characteristics and special needs. Tutors will develop/design an education plan to address the student’s needs taking into consideration things such as race, culture, ethnicity and personal history.
 
Tutors will incorporate a variety of learning tools/styles in various places in the community such as libraries, museums, or anywhere that promotes learning. Services may take place after school, weekends, and/or anytime school not in session. Tutors must be committed to on-going professional and social development.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete student assessments within 10 days of receipt of referral
  • Research and implementation of evidence based curriculum
  • Implement parental and educator engagement plans
  • Report student progress to caregivers and teachers
  • Complete re-assessments at minimum every 90 days
  • Plan and establish a safe learning environment for all participating students
  • Create and implement education plans based on the completed assessment
  • Document all tutor sessions in progress notes located on Google Drive
  • Adhere to VOICES guidelines & policies and to those of the facility, reporting any incidents or problems as outlined in the policy and procedure manual
  • Be a positive role model to students, care givers, and educators
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree(B.A.); or at minimum 60 hours of post-secondary education credit   hours in education, social work, psychology, or related field
  • At least two years’ experience working with youth and families
  • Well-versed in the curriculum they will be helping the students with
  • 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable vehicle & insurance
  • Pass applicable background checks
