HR conducted engagement surveys to our providers and administrative staff members in March. Thank you to all that participated and took the time to send in comments. Positive comments came from flexible schedules, quality of care provided, and support by colleagues and supervisors. We do have some areas for opportunity and improvement. We are planning to follow up with short surveys that will focus on those specific areas of improvement.
MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
As many of you may know, May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month. A4 values your mental health and wants to ensure you have the resources needed. This topic touches everyone at some point in their life, whether direct or indirectly, and in many different ways.
Small changes in your life can have an enormous impact on your mental health. Stress comes in many ways and in many different sizes. Any demand on your mind or body is considered to be a stressor. When you address issues of any size, whether big or small, you are contributing to reducing your stress. Habits don't have to be big to be effective on reducing stress, small habits can have just as big of an impact.
Try some of the following to release stress or tension in your life:
Meditate for 25 seconds
Stretch
Take a walk around the block
Read one page from a book
Put down your phone
Do one random act of kindness
As always, please refer to your ComPsych resources below or call the HR department with any questions. Remember, if you feel overwhelmed, reach out. Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help.
Below you can visit the GuidanceResources website.
The Second Annual Step Challenge is well under way! Thank you to the thirty individuals from multiple sites that have signed up for this friendly, yet competitive, challenge. It is ongoing for the next six weeks and helps to promote healthy habits and exercise.
Be on the lookout for weekly updates.
If you have not joined the step challenge, below is an easy exercise to try and continue to promote healthy habits.
Targets: Back, Biceps, Triceps, and Shoulders.
Stand with your arms out in front of you at chest height
Hold a resistance band tightly between your hands so the band is parallel to the ground
Keep both arms straight, pull the band toward your chest by moving your arms outward. Initiate this motion from your mid back.
Keep your spine straight as you squeeze your shoulder blades together. Pause briefly, then slowly return to the starting position.
Repeat 12 to 15 times. Perform 2 to 3 sets.

- FINANCE -
Q1 Physician hours and draw review
During the month of April, the Finance team completed a reconciliation of all physician hours and draws received through March 31, 2022. We do this to ensure draws are appropriately set. Our goal is to identify any physicians in a significant deficit or surplus situation, this is to avoid any surprises for the physician at the year end. Every physician should have received a Q1 Reconciliation Summary in late April.
Physicians that appear to be trending in the negative may be contacted to determine if a draw adjustment is necessary or if it is a temporary situation, and is then expected to correct itself over the coming months. The temporary situations ranging from an extended vacation, LOA's, or GAS assignment in Q1. We will work with you to determine the best course of action.
We also like to make physicians aware if they have a significant surplus, as they may want to increase their draw or take a one-time extra draw. We know many of the physicians like to get a large lump sum at the year end, but we like to keep you aware of surplus amount for tax planning purposes.
Once when you review your Q1 Reconciliation Summary and if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to propose any changes in your draw, please reach out to:

MAC has had a very busy past few months with onboarding our new client from New York, Anesthesia Group of Albany.
MAC took over the billing for one of AGA's Trinity hospitals and started billing for them as of April 1st, 2022. We recently signed a RCM contract with another Trinity hospital in New York that is part of St. Peter's Health System. We will start billing for their employed anesthesia providers around July of 2022.
With the addition of new business, our team has been working hard on training our new MAC staff. If you are in the office and see new faces, please stop by and say hello!
In addition to new hire training and onboarding of our new client, we have to continue to work hard on making sure claims are billing timely and accounts are paid correctly.
We look forward to the growth in 2022 and are excited to help other groups with their RCM needs.
We are hosting our CRNA town hall meeting on June 5th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Brandy Horton will be sending out zoom information as we get closer to June 5th.
