Easter, Anzac Day & Term 2 …
We enjoyed a lovely Easter here, I hope you did too wherever you call home.  It's always a bit of a muddle with who's going to be home at this time of the year - Farmer Ross was sowing canola, our son is working on a cattle station near Mount Isa, and our daughters' partners were sowing and mustering respectively. Quiet, lazy afternoons spent with my girls - walking, watching movies and yes, eating !

Late last month I headed to Bourke for the NSW State ICPA Conference. I've always been a member of our local ICPA but I've never been to a conference. It was absolutely inspiring - to be surrounded by a dynamic group of people, completely committed to their advocacy roles on behalf of families in rural and remote NSW was engaging to say the least.

I met our State President, Kate Warby along with our Federal President Alana Moller. They, along with their respective Councils, are humans who run with overflowing plates and an enthusiasm that is completely contagious. I'm in awe and I'm eager to continue our well established partnership in support of our ICPA.

So much so that in June our team (myself, Emma and Adelaide) are off to Blackall for the Queensland ICPA State Conference and we're really looking forward to it. We'll be hitting the road immediately following our Wagga Wagga Expo event (Fri 3/Sat 4 June), if you're there please come up and introduce yourself. We love meeting our schools and our families.

We have launched our virtual platform ‘Boarding Expo 365’ and are proud to have 17 schools that have shown faith in this new and exciting venture. Read more about that below.  And if you live within a few hours of Dubbo our first Expo event for 2022 is just around the corner - Friday 13 and Saturday 14 May.  36 boarding schools from regional NSW, Queensland, ACT and Sydney heading out west to meet you.

Hope you have a great couple of weeks, and feel welcome to share our newsletter with a friend who may be considering their boarding school options.

This is how they do it….
Boarding Schools Profile
Boarding at St Stanislaus’ College provides life experience and teaches expectations in a safe and caring environment. Our 95 boarders enjoy the benefits of a rich College heritage and a diverse cultural and academic life. Head of Boarding, Mr Dan Bradford, leads a strong focus on pastoral care and a comprehensive support system for all students, including counselling support through a registered Psychologist and senior student leadership to support new and younger students.
The College offers full-time, weekly, five or four nights boarding. Students' accommodation varies from single cubicle bed spaces for Years 7 to 9 to single rooms for Years 10 to 12. Stannies understands that boarding cannot be the same as living at home, as it is communal living. The aim is to instil life values like friendship, honesty and respect in ourselves and others.

Following months of preparation and an overwhelming response from boarding schools up and down the eastern states, we're ready to kick off Boarding Schools Expo Australia's events for 2022.
Join us in Dubbo on Friday 13th May and/or Saturday 14th May for our first Expo.  We are proud to present families from central and western NSW with 36 boarding schools for their consideration. Schools from Sydney, Brisbane, regional NSW and the ACT will be exhibiting with senior representatives, Directors of Boarding and in some instances Registrars.
Our Expos are FREE TO ATTEND and you will be able to find out about scholarships, bursaries, educational opportunities and more. The Isolated Children's Parents' Association will be there to answer your questions around support for rural and remote families.
There are boarding schools to suit all children and a variety of budgets and we warmly welcome you to meet face to face with schools at our Dubbo event.
(Is a boarding school you're connected with attending? Reach out and let them know you'll be there.)

Some of the things we're loving…..
Do you love this image above as much as we do ? We want to credit photographer Elena Chalker who eagerly said ‘yes’ to our request to purchase her image. You'll find Elena on Instagram @misspip_rural where you can devour her gorgeous images of rural life.

Share our newsletter with a friend and let them discover the good news about boarding and building communities away from the places we call home.
Enjoy your week, tune in to Destination Boarding, The Podcast,
Until next Month,
