Hey First name / friends!

Can you believe it’s already May?! Time is flying this year! I’ve been busy behind the scenes wrapping up my live Chroma Course and prepping for my upcoming retreat in Spain next month (P.S. there are still a couple of spots left if you want to join me!). I’m so excited to head back to Europe for the summer and I can’t wait for all of the creative connections and inspiration that the retreat will bring.

#CreateWithCatCoq - Draw This In Your Style 🦄
Back by popular demand, this week’s #CreateWithCatCoq is a “Draw This In Your Style” challenge. You all knocked it out of the park with the flamingo DTIYS motif a few weeks ago, so this time I wanted to take us in a more ✨ whimsical ✨ direction. Your challenge this week is to draw this fun unicorn illustration in your style! I cannot wait to see what you all create!

New Blog Post - How to Fuse Artwork Scans Together
A question I get asked a lot from my students learning how to digitize their artwork is, “What if my painting is bigger than my scanner?” I totally understand because I’m in the same boat!

When I paint, I prefer to use 11”x15” paper. This allows me enough room to spread out and utilize the page if I’m painting a detailed motif. The only problem is, that my scanner bed is 8”x10”. This means that in order to scan my larger paintings, I have to scan them in two pieces. But after years of honing my art digitizing skills, I’ve come up with a system that allows me to easily fuse the two scans into one seamless image in Photoshop. In this new blog post, I share my step-by-step process for fusing two scans into one image. Check it out here!

Want to be featured on my blog?
I'm all about community over competition, and I think there is so much that we can all learn from each other. I want to make my blog resource library as robust as possible and help amplify your creative voice so you can share your knowledge with the rest of the CatCoq community. If you have an idea for a creative tutorial that you want to share, check out this page that has all of the information about how you can submit your article!
