That gestational glo. The journey through pregnancy can be a beautiful but sinuous one at that; not only does it change the physical mould of our bodies but also our epidermis. With the interchange of hormones, your skin can be presented with many challenges including breakouts, melasma, excess oil, dryness, and more visible veins. 

 

We are the loudest of advocates on educating our Glo gals about the importance of combining both a treatment and topical approach to any skin-situation.  Whilst pregnant there is both a range of products and treatments that must be avoided. Products containing Retinol and Salicylic Acid and our treatments of PRP, Peels and Skin Needling are ruled out. Instead we recommend LED, which works wonders to help heal any inflammation whilst waking up our skin cells, ready to receive your topical nourishment.

You will most likely recognise this beauty from our Kelvin Grove clinic, our Cosmetic Injector Tiernan. Delighted by her second pregnancy, Tiernan has shared with us how imperative it is to continue your skin care routine once pregnant. 

 

Tiernan's day starts with a shower and cleanse with Cosmedix Gentle Clean. She then applies Aspect Extreme B17, Cosmedix BrillianCy, Shineless Moisturiser and Physical Sunscreen. The result? Glowy, hydrated skin. On the days she's out and about, she wears a simple BB cream, cream blush and mascara for that no makeup makeup look. 

 

 As her day draws to a close, Tiernan opts for a double cleanse with Cosmedix Gentle Clean followed by the Exfoliating RX Cleanser - her reliable go-to, ensuring her face remains clean, yet hydrated.
