Hello beauty, Amelia, here. How is today's New Moon in Gemini treating you? My moon is in Gemini in my natal chart, so I'm embracing a little extra sweetness with this one. Reminding myself that the tiniest things can be the most sacred. Speaking of tiny things, I remembered recently that I used to host my mailing list on tinyletter. The first time I sent an email there it went to 21 people. Now there are almost 600 of you receiving this note. 🌑 In honor of that growth and this new moon, I'd like to take a moment to re-introduce myself and to share a tender new project that I'm launching today. In case you're new around here, here are a few basics about me— - My name's Amelia Hruby.
- I live in Lincoln, Nebraska. Less than a hundred miles from where my German and Italian ancestors immigrated in the late 19th century.
- I'm an Aries Sun, Gemini Moon & Capricorn Rising.
This is what I look like lately ⤵️ |

If you've been around here for a while, you might remember that— I've created lots of free things for this list over the years. So if you're new here, you might want to grab— For work, I run a feminist podcast studio called Softer Sounds and a podcast about leaving social media called Off the Grid. I don't share much about those on this list, so if you want to learn more about my podcast work, you can join the Softer Sounds newsletter here. |

Now for the announcement— I've been reading tarot since early 2016, studying astrology since 2019, and learning water medicine with my friend and mentor mary grace since 2020. But since I left Instagram in April 2021 and launched my business in July 2021, I haven't found much time to tend to my creative and spiritual practices. So this summer, I decided to recommit to devotion and do what I do best—launch a podcast to share it! ✨ my tiny tarot practice is a tiny, twice-weekly podcast where I'll share my explorations of tarot card-by-card. Episodes will be fifteen minutes or less, releasing on Mondays & Thursdays most weeks. I'm starting with the minor arcana, beginning today with the Ace of Wands. |

While I've been reading tarot for years, I'm very much an amateur in interpreting the cards. At first that made me feel too scared to do a project like this. *cue the imposter syndrome* But lately as I step into expertise in my career, I've found that I really enjoy being an amateur in other areas of my life. Reading tarot for myself and new friends is one area where I'm exploring that. Making misshapen quilts for tiny babies is another. ⤵️ |

At this point, I think I've given you enough links to crash your browser. So if you made it this far, thank you so much for being here. ♡ Going forward, you can expect to hear from me monthly-ish (about ten times a year) with reflections on creative process, personal growth, and feminist values. I most often write when I have a new event, interview, or offering to share. Occasionally I invite friends to write to you when they have something special to say that I think is deeply aligned and of service. If this isn't your cup of tea, I invite you to unsubscribe below. Or if you'd like to reply and (re)introduce yourself, I'd be honored to have you in my inbox. As I wrote to this list last summer—your attention is sacred and I'll always treat it as such. On this new moon, I invite you to treat yourself and your attention as sacred, too. |

P.S. It's almost time for Sloth Girl Summer again! 🦥 Don't forget to slather on your SPF & recite your sloth girl mantra daily—when i rest i receive, rest makes me worthy. P.P.S. If you skipped to the end, I invite you to get to know me by listening to this playlist of podcasts I've been on. 🎧 The most recent addition is a wonderful conversation I had with Softer Sounds client Chedva Kleinhandler about being radically generous. |
