An ode to Tiggy.
I got Tig as a pup 9 months ago, I wanted a bearded Huntaway and was very keen to start training Tig to potentially get a job on a farm. We soon learned that the Tiggerdude was different. He wasn't walking like a normal pup and his response time got slower and slower, up until a point where he was walking odd and we went to the vet. They assumed he has brain damage and there wasn't much we could do. So I changed his food, and got him on steroids for a while, Tiggy got way better (or less retardo) and we had fun! We biked, ran and walked heaps, he was just special.
His last weeks were heartbreaking, his coordination was gone, he couldn't walk, eat or drink really so we had heaps of cuddles. It was time to say goodbye. It all happened quickly and we had to decide what life this 11 month old Tig is having and if he's actually happy or not.
Tiggy is a dude, he's gentle, hilarious and such a good friend. We miss him.
